'My radio School' is an innovative initiative of Mandeshi Radio.

The coronavirus epidemic has wreaked havoc on most of the world's economic sectors. At the same time, online education is becoming ubiquitous in order to ensure that children's education is not disrupted because of the lockdown measures. In times of increasing coronavirus infection, online education needs to be seen as an feasible option, as per government issued guidelines

According to a survey conducted by an e-marketer, the problem of intermittent internet connectivity is more pressing in rural areas than cities. Furthermore, most students of the region do not have access to mobile phones which in turn restricts their access to learning and schooling. Keeping these problems in mind, Mandeshi Tarang Vahini, Mhaswad in Maan taluka had undertaken innovative initiative.

The Mann Deshi Foundation, under the guidance of presidents Chetna and Prabhat Sinha, has decided to air an 'My Radio School' on the Mandeshi Channel community radio.

'My Radio School' is a special radio program for school children being broadcasted every morning from 10 am to 11 am. Through this program, textbook lessons are taught to the children of Class I to IV. Other subjects are taught by the respective teachers through radio studio. Broadcast of this program will be on air at Radio FM 90.4MHz channel.

The radio educational programming provides access to learning for those without network connection or mobile devices. But also for other disadvantaged students. For blind students, the radio is a very important medium to listen to any information, developments and schooling.

With the goal of expanding the right of education to all, especially the most vulnerable, the Mann Deshi Tarang Vahini has started this innovative program and looks forward to it's growth and impact.

Mann Deshi Tarang Vahini (Community Radio Center) was started in 2009 to spread Mandeshi culture and customs all over the world. It is the first radio station in Maharashtra run by women.
